If you have cellulite first thing is first. Don't freak out, it's OK, and it’s a very common problem for women of all ages. About 80-90% of all women and about 10% of men, to be precise. Many women associate cellulite with being overweight, and yes excess body fat can make cellulite more visible, however, cellulite can appear on women of all shapes and sizes. So what's all the fuss about?
Well, the good news is that cellulite is not harmful in any way. It is just normal fat beneath the skin however as the fat pushes against the skin and tissue it causes it to bump and pucker. But let's face it it's still not pretty so how do you get rid of it?
Here are some of my favourite tips for helping reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Hydrated cells are plump and vibrant, and this reflects your entire skins appearance. Hydration will also ensure your body let's go of any excess fluid it may be holding on to.
Start by drinking a large full glass of water first thing in the morning before you have any food, tea or coffee. Add some lemon if you wish to add some taste.
Continue to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Or 2-3L. Keep a water bottle with you and sip on it throughout the entire day. Remember if you drink tea, coffee or other drinks such as diet soft drink, this does not count as part of your fluid intake.
STRENGTH AND INTENSITY
Weight training is fantastic for cellulite. Now I’m not talking about doing endless reps with a light weight. You need to add some strength training of lower repetitions at a heavier weight.
This will help increase muscle tissue over time. As you build toned lean muscle, this will make your skin appear tighter and smoother
Ten you want to add some high-intensity interval training (see more on HIIT training here), which is quick yet effective for burning fat and elevates your metabolism for up to 24 hours after training. Burning more fat will also reduce to appearance of cellulite.

DRY BODY BRUSHING
Dry body brushing daily can help as this improves circulation, which allows the skin to get rid of toxins.
Dry brush with natural fibers. Start with dry body brushing your entire body before your shower in the morning and evening. Ensure that you start at your extremities (arms and legs) and brush in a firm stroking motion towards the heart.
This will stimulate the lymphatic system and promote blood flow beneath the skin's surface. This technique can also promote more collagen production, which can help make the skin appear firmer over time.
Ensure you take a shower after brushing to wash away any dead skin cells and you will be on your way to the luscious skin in no time.
FIGHT WITH FAT
Did your mom ever tell you that fish is good for you? Well, it is, particularly oily fish such as salmon, which contains a significant amount of omega-3 fatty acids. But if you are anything like me it's hard to eat enough omega 3's in your diet.
Omega-3s are a fantastic way to help combat cellulite because the promote collagen production and decrease any inflammation, which can contribute to reducing the appearance of cellulite.
Fish oils are a staple in my daily supplement regime, but other foods you can try to incorporate into your diet to boost your omega-3 intakes include, flaxseeds (linseeds) or flaxseed oil, chia seeds, walnuts, mackerel (oily fish), beef (grass-fed), seafood and spinach.
REDUCE YOUR STRESS
Reducing stress in your life can have SO many great benefits but believe it or not, relieving stress can also reduce to appearance of cellulite.
How do you ask? Well stress firstly or many people can lead to poor food choices and comfort eating. Eating foods that are not predominantly whole foods can leave a build up of toxins and excess fat storage beneath the skin.
But overall, when you are stressed this can reduce blood flow away from the skin and to other areas of the body. This will cause a reduction in circulation and will prevent the body from eliminating the build up of toxins underneath the skin.
So try adding some RNR time into your week or daily if possible. Try some meditation, restorative yoga, an Epsom salts bath, read a book and getting some extra sleep.
