If you follow me on Instagram then you would now how much i LOVE protein smoothies. That is because i am always snapping them, in the morning or after the gym, or just any time of the day as a snack really!
Something i hear a lot of is “i don’t have time to make a healthy meal”. well if you smoothie, then yes you do!
My smoothies are packed with protein, they incorporate carbohydrates and fats and you can adjust the macros to ensure they suit any nutritional time of the day. Plus they taste awesome so WIN WIN.
The only change i may make is… Breakfast or Snack smoothies – i keep carbohydrates moderate and fats higher. For pre or post workout smoothiesI keep carbohydrates highest and fats low. This may mean adding extra berries, oats, honey or other carb sources to my smoothie, or extra toppers such as muesli.
Firstly you need to know the SECRET…
I have 1 very secret ingredient in all of my smoothies. It’s called XANTHAN GUM or GUAR GUM.
This is what makes them super thick like a smoothie ice cream bowl or thick shake.
For each smoothie recipe simply blend in a blender, or even better a Nutri Bullet. You may need to adjust liquid amount depending on the protein powder that you use.
