I remember this moment so vividly now looking back. It was just over 3 years ago now when I won my IFBB Pro card which was an absolute dream come true. Then soon after my whole world came crumbling down around me and as a consequence, i started putting on weight rapidly. I shut off from the world for months and started hearing rumours about why i had put on the weight that i had. Honestly so many things kept coming back to me from "she is on steroids, to "she looks pregnant". I was fighting a battle that no one had any idea about yet everyone was very quick to judge and make assumptions about.Read More
Breakfast is always a hard one for most people. We are surround by cereals and sugary breakfast options everywhere which load us with carbohydrates. Now I do follow flexible dieting so I have nothing against sugar and cereals, however, unless you are doing a workout in the morning, eating a high carbohydrate meal may leave you hungry and lethargic soon after your meal.Read More

Adrenal fatigue is quite an ambiguous condition. For those of you who don't know, I suffered from a chronic case of adrenal fatigue for a few years and even though I am a million times better now, the truth remains that I am still battling hormone imbalances and trying to let my adrenals recover completely. It can take a long time to recover once you have burnt the candle at both ends, and it can be a very long and frustrating process.
I was at a point where I was in a deep hole of a hormonal and fatigue shiz storm where even something as simple as brushing my teeth before bed seemed like the biggest and most strenuous task, which took up all of my effort and energy.
Hormone imbalance and a certain level (mild or severe) adrenal fatigue can be quite common, and you don’t need to be an athlete for it to occur. So let me make you aware of what it is and the things you can do if you feel you may have this condition.

You may be trying to eat well and exercises or even follow a nutrition plan and training regime to an absolute Tee, but no matter what you do the weight just des not seem to want to budge. Instead, you find yourself getting crazy food cravings, you are frazzled, emotional, tired, stressed, even when life is peachy in other aspects.
Sound familiar? So many women complain about symptoms like this and talk about it with their girlfriends as an accepted norm, however even though symptoms are very varied, they may be an indication that there is an imbalance of hormones happening.
Hormone imbalance in women can come about for many reasons such as yo-yo dieting, lack of sleep, stress, pollutants, chemicals, poor nutrition to name a few. And in many cases (particularly from my own experience) imbalanced hormones generally go unnoticed and cause determent to your body under the radar, in many cases, doctors will dismiss any underlying issue without any diagnosis.Read More

That love-hate relationship we all have or had at some point with our set of bathroom scales. Sometimes we hop on them, and we are excited by the number that we see, and sometimes we step on them and want to throw them out of the window straight after. At some point in time, we have all let ourselves become dictated by a number, but I am here to let you know that it's time to tell the scales to move over and feel fabulous regardless of what they say.
For so long I let myself become dictated by a number. I would hop on the scales most days and if the number on there was not what I had hoped for then this would change my entire mood for the whole remainder of the day. I know that so many of you can relate to this feeling because we all do it or have done it at some point. When the number is not what we want, we start to torture ourselves. I used to eat even less for the day or spend extra hours in the gym. I would start questioning what I had done wrong when I thought I was doing absolutely everything possible to control my weight. I would weight myself daily, and the number would change my whole mood for the day, and I would worry about it so much if it was not budging. It was that feeling of all my hard work was not paying off, and some of you at this point would even just throw in the towel and give up. I have at times in the past where when the number was not moving, I would be like 'what the hell?' and just binge on food because, well, what's the point? This is all too common amongst many women these days, so we all need to take steps to get out of this vicious cycle.Read More
